1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how HaninCity (the "Company", "we") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use hanincity.com and related services (the "Service").

By using the Service you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: email, name, phone number (SMS verification), profile photo, and password (stored encrypted). If you sign in with a social provider such as Kakao, the profile information that provider shares with us.

Role-specific information: for agents, real estate license number and affiliation; for companies, company name and hiring contact details.

Content you post: real estate listings, job postings, resumes and application materials, community group posts, comments, photos, events, and questions, and tour request messages.

Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe/PayPal. We do not store card numbers; we keep transaction records (amount, time, status) and credit balances only.

Usage information: search queries, location searches, favorites, viewing history, and access logs (IP address, browser and device information, timestamps) generated automatically while using the Service.

Inquiries: your name, email address, and message when you contact us through the contact form or by email.

3. How We Collect It

We collect information in three ways: directly from you (signing up, posting, contacting us), automatically through your use of the Service (logs, cookies), and from third parties (social login profiles).

4. How We Use Information

Providing the Service: posting and searching listings, job postings, and group content; delivering applications, resumes, and tour requests between users; operating community groups.

Verification and safety: SMS phone verification; detecting and preventing abuse, spam, and fraud; enforcing our Terms of Service.

Notifications: in-app notifications, and email/text notifications (per your settings) for events such as tour requests, job applications, and group activity.

AI features: posted content may be sent to our AI processor (OpenAI) to generate descriptions and to translate between Korean and English.

Other: processing payments, responding to inquiries, improving the Service and producing statistics, and complying with legal obligations.

5. Processors & Sharing

We use the following processors to operate the Service: Supabase (database, auth, storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe and PayPal (payments), Twilio (SMS verification and text notifications), Resend (email delivery), OpenAI (AI descriptions and translation), Mapbox and Google (maps), Google Analytics (usage statistics), and Upstash (rate limiting).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties without your consent except where required by law (court orders, lawful requests by authorities).

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will provide notice before this occurs.

6. Information Visible to Other Users

Contact information you choose to include in listings or job postings is, by the nature of the Service, visible to other users.

Your profile name and photo appear alongside your posts, comments, and group activity. Content posted in public groups may be visible to visitors who are not signed in.

Resumes and application materials are delivered to the company that posted the job; tour requests are delivered to the listing's agent.

7. SMS/Text Message Consent

Text messages may be sent for phone verification and service notifications (tour requests, job applications, group approval requests, and similar). Message frequency varies with your activity. Message and data rates may apply.

You can turn off each category of notification texts in your dashboard's notification settings, and you may opt out of non-verification texts at any time.

8. Email Communications & Opt-Out

Aside from essential account and security emails, you can turn off each category of notification emails in your dashboard's notification settings.

9. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use essential cookies to maintain login sessions and remember language preferences.

We may collect usage statistics via Google Analytics to improve the Service. We do not currently use advertising cookies.

10. Retention

We retain personal information while your account is active. Upon account deletion, we promptly delete or anonymize your information except where retention is required by law (e.g., transaction and payment records).

Security-related data such as access logs and rate-limiting records are kept only as long as needed for their purpose.

11. Security

Personal information is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards including database access controls (row-level security), role-based permissions, and signed URLs for file access.

However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your Rights & Choices

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of processing of your personal information. You can edit your profile directly in your dashboard; for other requests, contact contact@hanincity.com.

Depending on where you live (for example, California and certain other U.S. states), you may have additional rights, such as requesting details of the information we hold or opting out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information.

We may ask for information to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

13. International Transfers

The Service is operated on servers located in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to your information being transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.

14. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information. If we learn that we have collected information from a child, we will delete it promptly.

15. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to external sites (for example, job postings with external application pages). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.

16. Changes to This Policy

If this Policy changes, we will post the updated version on this page with a new "last updated" date, and provide notice in the Service or by email for material changes.
